Florals for the Home

I absolutely love having flowers in my house. I would love to come home with a bouquet of fresh flowers from the store each week, but I just can’t bring myself to spend that kind of money for flowers on the regular.

I also love to bring in fresh flowers from my garden when they are in season, but the rest of the time I use artificial flowers. Artificial flowers have come a long way since I was a kid, and there are so many beautiful and realistic looking options!

I bought all of my flowers from Hobby Lobby, where I always hit up their half-price sale. According to my mom (who is much more artistic than I), florals should be arranged in odd numbers to keep them looking full and “unsymetrical”.  For example, for the hydrangea arrangement below I used 3 of the hydrangeas (instead of 2 or 4) and then added the other flowers as appropriate.

I hope you enjoy these arrangements, and possibly find some inspiration for your own home!

I have been enjoying these beautiful bronze poinsettias with gold accents this winter.

For early spring, these dogwood branches will be a nice change.

This spray of lavender will be the perfect touch in the hot summer months.

I love hydrangeas, and would display this arrangement in any season.
